Apocalypse Now 6, Zulus 3

Melrose (AP) – February 5, 2012: Guido Sever drew cheers for his stellar play as he helped lift Apocalypse Now to a 6-3 victory over the Zulus and extend their winning streak to 8 games. Sever had his third hat-trick of the season and the twenty-third of his career. “I enjoy every shift on the ice,” Sever said. “It was a huge game for us. Every game is important." Slap Shots: It was reported that the Zulus, who had only won one game all year, had called up a couple of elite division players to fill out their roster. Aside from a few nifty moves, the players were kept in check and had little impact on the game... Patrick Nikolaus was back in the lineup after missing the last six games and assisted on Guido's last goal...Paul Correia set up Guido's first goal which was his first Apocalypse Now point...Jim Heim was playing his 200th regular season game in net for Apocalypse Now. It was his 93rd win...Bryan Wiebe was playing in his 150th regular season game.
