Melrose - February 19, 2023: Michael Moore and Apocalypse Now gave the fans an electrifying performance to remember. Jim Heim opened the scoring with his first ever playoff goal and gave the team the spark they needed. They kept the pressure on for 60 minutes and came away with a 9-2 win to capture the B-Side Championship for the second time in 4 years. They got goals from 5 different players to show they are not a one person team even though Moore scored 5 straight goals. Jeff Wrobleski managed to finish second in goals scored for the playoffs when he scored his third goal. "The Wolves goalie lifted his arm and I snuck the puck in" he said.
Slap Shots: Michael Moore's 14 goals is the most ever scored in the playoffs. Pete Pearson had 11 goals in 1987. Moore was one point short of tying John Olson's record of 19 points in the playoffs. Moore recorded his 3rd hat-trick of this season's playoffs which ties Pearson for the most in one season. It was his second 5 goal game this playoff year. Ron Parada is the only other player to score 5 goals in a playoff game (1990)... Myron Fiks had a goal and 4 assists and hit the 50 playoff assists milestone... Jim Moore was seen on the bench but did not take a shift. He vowed to be ready for Apocalypse Now's 40th season
