Apocalypse Now 1, Whiskey Jugs 3

Melrose – January 4, 2015: On a bitterly cold night in Manitoba, the Whiskey Jugs had to work up a sweat to hand Apocalypse Now their first loss of the season. After Jeff Wrobleski tied the game late in the second half, and with Jim Heim having a spectacular game, it appeared that another tie game was inevitable. However, the Jugs found an open man and he picked the corner on a great shot. They salted the game with an empty netter to win 3-1. Slapshots: The last time Wrobleski and Rob Moore combined for a goal was on January 30, 2011 versus the Clockwork Orange. Of Wrobleski’s 275 career regular season goals, 14 have been set up by Moore…Foghorn Leghorn has refereed countless Apocalypse Now games but on this night he could be found on the Jug’s blueline. He has a massive shot but did not see the puck very often…the divisions have been realigned and Apocalypse Now finds themselves in a new division led by the Club.
