Apocalypse Now 4, Whalers 6

Valley Gardens - January 2, 2022: After a lost season due to the Apocalypse pandemic, it was nice to be back. The Whalers goalie was 10 minutes late but the Horsemen couldn't take advantage, managing only 2 shots on the padless D-Man filling in. The slow start was blamed on the layoff. The Whalers scored early and took a 3-0 lead at the half. Highly touted Rookie Kevin Wood found some chemistry with Pete Tavares and made a game of it by scoring 4 second half goals. It was too little too late however, as the Whalers ended up with a 6-4 win. "My legs felt fine. I Felt like I was fighting the puck all game but it was great to play again." Jason Allard said. Slap Shots:It was a spectacular debut for Wood. He scored all 4 goals which ties the record for Most Consecutive Goals. It was also the most goals scored by a player in their first game. Pete Tavares has had 4 3-point games in his 43 game career, but this was his first 4-point game.
