Apocalypse Now’s focus was on getting off to a good start in their second game of the season, but less than five minutes into the game they were down 3-1 and playing catch-up. Michael Moore scored on a shot that went in off the foot of a Warlord and Brian Wiebe tied the game after knocking a puck out of the air and into the back of the net. But the Warlords played a strong second half and came away with the 5-4 victory.
Slap Shots: Jeff Wrobleski, the Ageless Wonder, had 3 assists in the game and passed the 300 mark. He now has 301 in his career…Myron Fiks was playing his first game since Game Six of the 2011-12 season on January 8, 2012…The Warlords are a reincarnation of the Sopranos. Their last meeting was in the 2010-11 playoffs won by Apocalypse Now 5-2. …Apocalypse Now have not lost 2 games in a row since January 16, 2011 when they lost to the Beer Bellies and the Hitman in a disastrous double-header…Jim Moore was given the day off.
