Apocalypse Now 4, Straight Out of the Uterus 3 (shootout)

Melrose – February 8, 2013 – Jim Moore and Myron Fiks both scored goals in the shootout, and Jim Heim stopped both Straight Out of the Uterus attempts to help Apocalypse Now hand the Uterus their first play-off loss on Friday night.  Here is the recap courtesy of Jeff Wrobleski: “We played one of the weaker 1st Division teams and we were lucky that we have "Playoff Jim" as he picked a pass out of the air with Heim off for an extra attacker and scored with less than a minute left in the third.  Jason set up rookie call-up Brian LaBossiere for a couple of breakaways in the OT period where they play four on four but he never scored.

 

It went to the shootout. Heim ran at their shooter and poke checked him before he could stickhandle around him and get a shot. I forced Jim to take one of our three penalty shots in the shootout as he wanted Jason to go but he gave in.  He used the shoulder shimmy move tip that he was given and easily scored.

 

Heim ran at their second shooter and poke checked him before he could stickhandle around him and get a shot. Myron hobbled in on his torn up knee and picked the corner and finished off the win.  Their next guy didn't get to shoot but Heim would have run at him and poke checked him just before he could stickhandle around him a get a shot.”
