Apocalypse Now 4, Swafflers 3 SO
Melrose - February 13, 2022: Another snowy day but the show must go on. Apocalypse Now and the 5th ranked Swafflers met in difficult conditions. Things looked grim for Apocalypse went Michael Moore went down with a hamstring pull. He managed to limp through the rest of the game and scored twice. Rob Moore was called for a questionable hooking penalty late in the game and the Swafflers took advantage and scored the tying goal sending the game to overtime. The 4 on 4 OT period had no results . It went to 3 on 3 but the Swafflers got an interference make-up call and Apocalyse had the man advantage for 3 minutes. Again, the snow limited any good chances. The teams went to a shootout with no one scoring until Michael Moore found low stick side on his second attempt to win the game. Apocalypse Now advances to the A-Side Final next Sunday.
Slap Shots:Jim Heim is now 9-2 in Shootouts. He has made 43 saves on 51 shots. The last time he lost a shootout was in the 2006-07 season when he was involved in 3 shootouts in the playoffs...With a goal and an assist, Jason Allard now has 80 points in 56 playoff games...Michael Moore's second goal was his 30th playoff goal.
