Apocalypse Now 2, Stunned Squad 4
Melrose - February 8, 2019: Forget what you know about playoff spongee. The days of stick-slashing, high-scoring, physical blood fests appear to be over. Now it's all about tight-checking and speed. Apocalypse Now, the 2nd seed in the 3rd Division, opened the 2019 Playoff Season with a 4-2 loss to the youthful 15h seed, Stunned Squad. The Horsemen started strong and went up 2-0 but couldn't get the 3rd goal which may have deflated the opposition Instead, they scored 4 unanswered goals including an empty-netter. Apocalypse moves on to the B-side.
Slap Shots::This was Apocalypse Now's 112th playoff game with a record of 54 wins and 58 losses...Jim Heim has not missed a playoff game in 20 years. He has been in net for 64 consecutive playoff games...Tristan Carlson and Bryan Finney were both playing in their 35th playoff game.
