Apocalypse Now 5, Stingers 4
Melrose - February 8, 2020: Apocalypse Now got even in the Sponge hockey Playoffs with a strong bounce-back performance following a blow-out loss on Friday night. Michael Moore scored a natural hat-trick and Myron Fiks scored the game winner with only 2 minutes left in the second half. "We knew what we had to do today," Fiks said.
Slap Shots:Moore's hat-trick was only the second for him in the playoffs. The first coming 7 years ago versus East Side Dead Weight...Jim Heim was playing in his 70th consecutive playoff game in goal. He played 4 games prior to that as a forward so his next game will be 75 in a row as a player...Myron Fiks got his 4th career game winning playoff goal...Guido Sever opened the scoring on the powerplay with a slapshot from the point. It was his 75th playoff point in 73 playoff games. He left the game shortly after with a leg injury. His status for Sunday is unknown. Check out Sever's goal here.
