Clearly an athlete that was born to play spongee, Jim Moore was just a 24 year old youngster when he received the invitation to join the roster of Apocalypse Now for the 1992-93 season. His impact was immediate and in just 3 years he had won the scoring title with 22 points in 1994-95. With a consistent effort he has amassed over 250 points in his career. He took a break in the 1998-99 campaign after putting the final touches on a career year (17 goals and 24 points). He returned to play all 14 games in the 1999-2000 season and notched 14 assists in a 23 point season. One of only 17 players to total over 20 points in one season, a feat he has accomplished 4 times. Moore’s intelligence and reading of the game is unrivaled. He consistently anticipates where the puck is going to be and executes the right move at the right time. Watch out for his elbows as they are often at nose level for the average player. He shares a record for scoring the most consecutive goals in a regular season game. It happened in Game 6 of the 1994-95 season in a 14-8 loss to the North End Flyers. Jeff Wrobleski set up 3 of the 4 goals that he scored in a row that day. |
