The Skunky Dozen 5, Apocalypse Now 4
Melrose – February 20, 2011: Myron Fiks finished the first round series last weekend with 6 goals and 1 assist. But he was shut down in Game 4 on Sunday afternoon -- and that's a big reason why Apocalypse Now went home a heck of a lot earlier than anyone could have predicted. At least 2 hours earlier. A shocked and somber Fiks quickly headed for his car following the Skunky Dozen’s 5-4 win without saying a word. Apocalypse Now showed no quit and almost got the equalizing goal in the last minute but Jim Moore could not convert the picture perfect pass from Fiks and it was next year country again for the Horsemen. Slap Shots: Jim Moore had his best playoffs in his 17 year career and led all scorers with 8 points…Jim Heim was playing in his 41st consecutive playoff game. He needs to play just 28 more in a row to beat Rob Moore’s record … Bryan Finney scored his 7th goal in 9 playoff games…Tristan Carlson got his first career playoff point…To see the video of the final minutes of the game, click here.
