The Ratz 3, Apocalypse Now 2

Melrose – February 21, 2010: Apocalypse Now used their lack of speed and semi-hard-hitting ways to reach the B-side final for the first time in 3 years. The result was the same as it was 3 years ago as they fell to the Ratz in a tight 3-2 loss. It was obviously a very disappointing loss especially after beating the Ratz three times in the last two seasons and shutting them out twice. The Ratz scored first and took a 2-1 lead into half-time. Bryan Finney scored his second goal of the game in the second half to even the score and as the period was winding down, overtime was looming large. But then the Ratz scored the go-ahead goal with less than two minutes left in the second half, to crush the Apocalypters spirits. It was lights out at Melrose -- and Jeff Wrobleski couldn't believe it. “I’m speechless. “He said. Slap Shots: Despite a terrific playoff run, the Horsemen can't expect that they are back to the glory days. They need to keep building on the success of this year's playoff when camp opens next December and prove they have a roster worthy of a Championship challenge. Compare this year to the play-offs in 1995-96 (a 8-1 loss and a 19-1 loss to KGB) and I think everyone would agree that it was probably a little more fun this year.
