Apocalypse Now 4, Ratz 2
Melrose - February 2, 2020: Super Dave Meier made his Apocalypse Now debut on Sunday Morning as Jim Heim was rested for the playoffs. He made several spectacular saves as he led the team to a 4-2 win over the Ratz. "I was playing behind a great defense," Meier said afterwards.
Slap Shots:Dave Meier was the first goalie to play other than Jim Heim since Paul Correia on January 13, 2013. Heim played defense in place of Pete Tavares who was sick. Jim was playing in his 100th consecutive game. The previous 99 were in goal. He got an assist on Bryan Wiebe's opening goal. It was his first point since January 17, 2010 which was also against the Ratz. That point came 10 years after as well. So we can expect Jimmy to get another point in 2030.
