Apocalypse Now 5, Puckin’ Ice Holes 2

Morse Place – February 1, 2009 –   Superbowl Sunday and a warm-up for the Great American Game; Apocalypse Now versus the Puckin’ Ice Holes. After a short delay to clean up from a snowstorm that came and went just prior to game time, Apocalypse Now scored 4 second half goals to beat the Ice Holes, 5-2. “Finally one of my shots when in,” Patrick Nikolaus said about his first goal of the season that ignited the outburst.  Notes: Less than 5 minutes into the game, Myron Fiks took a high stick to the eye and did not return. Sources report the doctors had to glue the cut on his eyelid and they did x-rays and ran him through a number of tests.   They don’t think there’s any permanent damage to his eye but they said it experienced a lot of trauma.  He probably won’t play this weekend as it’s very swollen and sore…When a penalty was not assessed on the play, Rob Moore received a 10 minute misconduct for complaining to the referee…Moore had 3 assists in the game.  It was his first multi-point game since February 13, 2005 against the Grand Beach Beer Bellies…Jason Allard notched his first assist of the year.
