Melrose – January 12, 2010 – The Old and Stoned dominated from start to finish with an 8-3 victory over Apocalypse Now in the opening game of the A-side playoff series on Friday night. Apocalypse managed to keep it close until midway through the second half when the Old and Stoned pretty much scored at will to put the game away. The Apocalypse players blamed the loss on the ice which had a thin cover of snow on it. “It was nuts out there,” Bryan Finney, who contributed a goal and assist, said. Slap Shots: Jeff Wrobleski and Rob Moore were playing in their 75th play-off game. It was the 77th play-off game in Apocalypse Now history….Myron Fiks opened the scoring with a howitzer from just inside the blue line.
