Apocalypse Now 4, Frozen Nuts 3
Morse Place – January 30, 2008 –The re-signing of Jason Allard in the off season turned out to be a stroke of brilliance. Allard was originally drafted by Apocalypse Now in 1995 but left the team after the 1999-2000 season to play for the Mighty Fists of Doom. In 18 games, Allard had 9 career points.  Tonight, he became the 14th player to win the scoring title for Apocalypse Now by scoring once and adding two helpers in a 4-3 victory over the Frozen Nuts. He also ended Myron Fiks’ 3 year run at the top. Allard finished with 12 goals and 23 points, the lowest amount of points to capture the scoring title since Jim Moore’s 22 points in 1994-95.  Slap Shots: Apocalypse Now only played 13 games this season as they were awarded a default win when the Pirates failed to show up for the first game of the double-header. The Pirates were averaging over 8 goals against in games played this year, so it was a major disappointment for the stat-padders…Apocalypse finished the regular season with a record of 7-5-2, their best record since the 2004-05 season.
