Apocalypse Now 5, Flamin’ Martyrs 4

Melrose – December 13, 2009 – Apocalypse defenseman Jeff Wrobleski was as good at passing on the praise as he was the puck Saturday night. Wrobleski set up the season opening goal by Bryan Wiebe and the game winner by Guy Sever and Apocalypse Now held on for a 5-4 victory over the Flamin’Martyrs. “I just shot the puck at the net and those guys did all the work” Wrobleski said while chewing on a chicken wing.

Notes: Jim Heim was quick to point out after the game that he is now .500 in career wins-losses. In 167 games in goal, he has a record of 73-73-21…Bryan Finney notched his 15^th point in his 15^th career game…Tristan Carlson returned from a knee injury that forced him to miss almost all of the 2008-09 season. “It felt good tonight” he said while taking off the knee brace.
