Apocalypse Now 2, Madz Polar Cubs 5
Valley Gardens - February 12, 2016: The Polar Cubs came out hard and fast and scored 3 goals in the first 5 minutes of the opening playoff game for both teams. Apocalypse Now tried to claw their way back and managed to close the gap to 3-2 but couldn't get the equalizer. After the Cubs scored their 4th goal, Jim Moore took exception to a bad penalty call by Foghorn the Ref and was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct (throwing his stick). The Cubs scored on the powerplay and it was over. "Sorry to you all. I shouldn’t have lost it on poor blind Foghorn." Jim tweeted afterwards.
Slap Shots:Jim Heim has not missed a playoff game in the last 18 years. He has now played 57 consecutive playoff games...Guido Sever was playing in his 60th career playoff game...the last time Apocalypse Now played a playoff game at Valley Gardens was 4 years ago (2011-12) when they won two games there on the way to the B-side championship.
