Apocalypse Now 2, Mad Agents 5
Melrose - January 9, 2022: Rob Moore was honoured by Apocalypse Now before playing his 500th game on Sunday versus the Mad Agents. Moore is the first player ever to play 500 games for Apocalypse Now. Fittingly, he opened the scoring by tucking in a rebound off a Jason Allard shot past Mad Agent netminder, Richard Tuominen. The Horsemen carried the 1-0 lead into the second half but then the Agents started shooting from all angles and scored 2 quick goals. Moore knocked a Peter Tavares point shot to Kevin Wood who tied the score, but the Agents were able to get the lead again with 5 minutes left. They added 2 empty net goals and won 5-2.
Slap Shots: It was the 55th multi-point game in Moore's career. Apocalypse Now Hall-of-Famer, Mike Allard attended the game despite the frigid temperatures. "Such a memorable game to watch," he said. Andrea Babinski also attended and was surprised that Jeff Wrobleski and Jim Heim were also still playing the game that she helped promote. Jeff Solylo sent a message,"Congratulations on playing your 500th game for Apocalypse Now yesterday. That’s an amazing achievement!"
