Apocalypse Now 1, Mad Agents 2

Melrose – January 24, 2016: Apocalypse Now was involved in another tough contest on Sunday night but couldn’t get the offense it needed to put it away. “It was a chippy affair with lots of questionable interference penalties” defenseman Tristan Carlson said. The game was marred by some stick-work late in the game that resulted in the ejection of Rob and Jim Moore. Slap Shots:The loss was the 100th in Jim Heim’s career. “It’s not really the milestone I was shooting for” he said afterwards…Jason Allard has 4 goals in his last 3 games.

Game was tied 1 to 1 and looked like team would have a chance to win as we had a two man advantage for another 1 minute & 1 man advantage for 2 more minutes late in the game. Then Rob did something (said he attempted to hook his opponent just to slow him down & "accidentally almost" got his stick caught in some guys ass cheek) Ref never had his hand up for a penalty but whatever Rob did was enough to cause opponent to run about 10 steps at Rob and then take a full two handed baseball swing across Rob's knee which caused Rob to fall to the ice & stay down for a few seconds. The ref then called them both for penalties so we should have still had a 2 man advantage for a couple of minutes. The other guy was still going nuts claiming Rob speared him in the balls (although he didn't appear to be injured at all) as all he was doing was just running around screaming at the ref and at anyone else who wanted to listen He finally intimidated the ref enough so ref called a lengthy timeout to give him some more time to vent. Not sure why the ref called such a long timeout but guess the other guy took some time to convince him to kick Rob out to for an attempt to spear. But then to make the deliberate slash even more of a joke - the ref announced that "the other team's two penalties were both over at drop of the puck" because the ref's timeout was running time. So by slashing Rob & running around screaming & yelling & getting ref upset the other team was able to kill both of their penalties.

Heim & everyone was yelling that both penalties were over and to stay back but Jim lost face off deep in their end and other center dumped it down the ice & the 2 guys coming out of box penalty box got a 2 on 1 breakaway and scored as Gman tried to get back in play and it ended up being the winning goal as we lost 2 to 1. Jim's night ended as he retaliated to some guy slashing him (that of course went unnoticed) as he retaliated by slashing some guys stick out of his hand and the other guy then took about 5 steps & piledrived Jim into the boards. Jim waived his stick in other guys face so he was tossed out of the game and the other guy only ended up with a minor penalty.
