Melrose - January 30, 2022: This was the third meeting of the season for Apocalypse Now and Legion of Doom. It was also the rubber match as each team has won one. The Doom took an early 3-0 lead and it didn't look good for the Horsemen. But then, Kevin Wood and Michael Moore started connecting and tied the score at the half. The Apocalypters kept coming and scored 6 consecutive goals while Jim Heim made save after save. Final score 7-4. "Perfect weather conditions for spongee," said Bryan Finney who had 2 assists despite a sore knee.
Slap Shots: Kevin Wood returned for this game and racked up 5 points, 2 goals and 3 assists. He passed such notables as Curt Burnett and Bill Kerr to move into 33rd place in all-time scoring...it was Michael Moore's 15th game winning goal of his career.
