Apocalypse 3, Ice Holes 2

Chalmers – January 4, 2009 – With about 10 minutes remaining against The Puckin’ Ice Holes, the Apocalypse’s Myron Fiks was frustrated that he had a goal disallowed after Referee Foghorn Ruggles claimed he caught the high puck instead of just knocking it down. Shortly afterward, he scored the go-ahead goal with a dazzling shot to the top corner to lead Apocalypse Now to a 3-2 win on Sunday afternoon. Jim Heim was brilliant in the second half as the Ice Holes tried in vain to even the score. “The sun was in my eyes and there were a lot of shadows,” Heim said, “but I’m used to not seeing anything out there.” Late Hits: Fiks picked up a roughing penalty in retaliation of a stick to the face. He last received a penalty in the regular season against the Killer Bees on February 1st, 2006, a span of 40 games...Apocalypse Now played a team called the Ice Holes in the 1995-96 season...Up next is Clockwork Orange. It has been 6 years since they last faced each other..Jeff Wrobleski will miss at least the next two games to try his luck in Vegas.
