Apocalypse Now 4, Hugh Jammers 4

Melrose - December 9, 2018: The Apocalypse Now's first game was another 18-wheeler going right off a cliff. Sudden, shocking and final. Up 4-1 over the Hugh Jammers at the half on Sunday night, the Horsemen seemed destined to win their Season Opener. That hadn't happened for the franchise since the 2015-16 season against the Knights. The Hugh Jammers reeled off three straight goals, including the tying goal with less than 1 second on the clock. It was a miraculous recovery for the Jammers who were definitely on the ropes. "The last goal was good. I hadn't blown the whistle" Referee Craig Stapon said. Slap Shots:Pete Tavares had 2 goals in the game including his first ever Season Opener...Jason Allard had a goal and 2 assists. It was the 24th time in his career that he had 3 or more points in a regular season game...the ageless Jeff Wrobleski chipped in with 2 assists. It was the 84th time in his career that he has had 2 or more assists in a game...Jim Heim was playing in his 74th consecutive game in goal....to see if time had actually expired when the tying goal was scored click here.
