Apocalypse Now 5, Hugh Jammers 3
Melrose - February 9, 2024: After a condensed season due to warm weather, the conditions were perfect for the opening night of the playoffs. The Hugh Jammers got off to a good start and were ahead 3-1 at the half. Apocalypse Now took over the game in the second half and only allowed a couple of opportunities on goalie Kevin Brass. After Rob Moore tied the game with a nifty tip of a Jason Allard pass, Myron Fiks put it away with his second goal of the game. "One of the overhead lights was out on the Jammers side of the rink and that certainly helped," Myron said.
Slap Shots:Michael Moore will miss the entire playoffs as he is enjoying Carnival in Brazil. Roman Jaworski was called up to replace him and set up the game winning goal..Fik's game winning goal was his 6th in 64 playoff games...Pete Tavares opened the scoring with his 4th career playoff goal.
