Valley Gardens (TICKER) – January 23, 2011 –
Jim Heim struggled in goal in the Apocalypse 9-8 win over the Club St. B Highrollers on Sunday afternoon. “I didn’t play well,” he
admitted after, “but at least we got the win.” The Highrollers
were leading 8-7 with a minute left when Apocalypse pulled the goalie and went
with the extra attacker. The strategy paid off as Guy Sever scored his 4th
goal of the game to tie it up. After the next face off, Myron Fiks, who also
had a hat trick and the 7th 6-point game of his career, sent a
centering pass to Bryan Wiebe who put it home for the game winner.

Shots: Wiebe’s game winning goal was the first of
the season for him. He went 12 regular season games without a goal which is the
longest goal scoring drought of his career…it was Myron Fik’s
first hat-trick in 3 years if you can believe it. His last 3 goal game was
exactly 3 years ago on January
23, 2008…This was Guy Sever’s 20th
career hat-trick which includes six 4-goal games, one 5-goal game and one
7-goal game. They are coming fewer and
farther apart as the last one was on January 27, 2007. …Jeff Wrobleski’s goal was the 250th of his career.
