Melrose (TICKER) – December 11, 2011 – Jason Allard scored on his first shot early in the first half to give the Apocalypse Now an early lead and they went on to beat the Golden Geeks, 4-2 on Sunday night in the season opener for both teams.. “I felt like there was a piano on my back,” Jim Moore said. “First games are tough.” Slap Shots: Jason Allard scored the opening goal of the season and joined the ranks of Jeff Wrobleski, Myron Fiks and Joe Moore who share the record of 3 career season opening goals …Bryan Finney missed his first regular season game since he was signed to the team on December 7, 2008, a streak of 39 games.
