Apocalypse Now 6, Flaming Martyrs 2

Melrose – December 29, 2013 – Michael Moore got the best of the Flaming Martyrs yet again. Moore scored 4 times and added 2 assists to lead the Apocalypse Now to a 6-2 win on Sunday night. The Martyrs have never beat Apocalypse Now in four meetings in the last couple of years. “They didn’t give us a lot of chances.” Moore said, “But we took advantage of the ones we got.” Slap Shots: Moore’s first goal was the 50^th of his career. He reached the milestone in 21 games which beats Pete Pearson’s mark of 35 games…Moore has tied Guido Sever’s record of scoring 11 consecutive points. He will have a chance of breaking the record next Sunday…There were a few milestone games played; Jim Heim was starting his 220^th game in goal…Bryan Finney was playing his 70^th regular season game…Jason Allard has played 99 games.
