Apocalypse Now 0, Fighting Fire Hydrants 3
Valley Gardens - January 8, 2023: It felt like 1990 for Apocalypse Now when a missing goaltender was a regular occurrence. On this day, the team arrived at the rink to learn that their rookie goalie, Kevin Brass had been in a rear end car accident. It appears he will be alright but was too sore to play. Jim Heim was tapped on the shoulder but his goalie pads were back at the ranch. He took one for the team, however, and valiantly faced the Fire Hydrant's rubber without a mask or pads. Unfortunately, Apocalypse was unable to mount any offence and fell 3-0 to the Fighting Fire Hydrants. "I'm pretty sure I scored a goal," Jason Allard said, "But Tommy the Ref said it hit the pipe."
Slap Shots: The last time Apocalypse did not score a goal in a game was on January 19, 2020. In 530 total games, Apocalypse has only been shutout 16 times...Guido Sever took the first penalty of the year on an interference call.
