Melrose – January 12, 2014 –Plenty of stress has been building up for the slumping Apocalypse Now spongee team who are off to one of their worst starts in history. After taking a 3-1 half-time lead, they couldn’t hold off the never-give-up Elmwood Elkhorns who came back to salvage a 3-3 tie on Sunday night. “We’ll take any points we can right now.” Defenseman Tristan Carlson said.  Slap Shots: Bryan Wiebe was playing in his 170th regular season game…Tristan Carlson was playing in his 70th regular season game…there was talk in the dressing room of an article in the Free Press on another spongee team called the Tumbleweeds .
