Apocalypse Now 5, The Drafts 0

Melrose – January 18, 2009 –   Guy Sever became only the second player in franchise history to reach 300 points, joining Jeff Wrobleski (508), in a 5-0 win over the lowly Drafts.  Sever’s abilities as an electrifying goal-scorer were on full display this Sunday afternoon as he scored two goals in the second half to solidify the win.Nice pass from Patrick to spring him!” Bryan Wiebe said in regard to the first goal.  Notes:  Jim Heim recorded his second shut-out of the year which equals the record set by Kerry Fisher in 1989-90.  It was also the sixth shut-out of his career which breaks Fisher’s record for most in a career…Wrobleski returned to the line-up and notched his first goal of the season…Sever has now scored a point in 10 straight games. Only Wrobleski has registered a point in every game of a season (1995-96) which was Sever’s rookie season…Rookie, Bryan Finney’s streak of 7 consecutive games with points came to an end… to see the video highlight of Sever’s landmark goal, click here.
