Apocalypse 4, Destroyers 2

Valley Gardens (AP) – February 10, 2012 – Rest easy, Wrobo. The Apocalypse Now appear to be in good hands. With Jeff Wrobleski waiting for e-mail updates, the Horsemen opened the playoffs by proving they can win without their captain. Jason Allard had two goals and an assist, Jim Heim made lots of saves, and Apocalypse Now clamped down defensively on the Destroyers in a 4-2 victory Friday night. Jim Moore, who had just one assist in the last four games of the regular season, produced as he usually does in the playoffs. Playing in his 50th career play-off game, he opened the scoring from a pass from another play-off producer, Bryan Finney. Finney now has 12 points in 10 play-off games. "It's all about the long sleeve t-shirt this year," he said referring to the championship prize.
