Apocalypse Now 6, Champ Sabres 2

Morse Place – January 2, 2008 – Guy Sever scored once and assisted on 4 others as Apocalypse Now manhandled the Champ Sabres 6-2 on a nasty night in Winnipeg. The Apocalypsers are off to their best start since the 2004-05 season and are finally playing like the contender they fancied themselves 6 years ago.

Late Hits: Jim Moore was awarded the assist on Jason Allard’s goal after some debate at the Pony Corral. It harkened back to the Joe Moore-Guido Sever dispute of several years ago. It was also Moore’s 100^th career assist…With his 5 points, Sever moved into a tie with Myron Fiks for the team scoring lead with 15 points. Fiks will miss the next two games as he is off to Seattle…Bryan Wiebe scored his 5^th goal of the season and 20^th of his career. He just needs to tip in 2 more to match his career season high for goals.
