Apocalypse Now 3, Brown Stars 2

Melrose – January 24, 2016:Apocalypse Now were forced to come from behind again and this time were successful thanks to their power-play. They were able to score twice with the man advantage and come away with a hard fought 3-2 victory over the Brown Stars. Patrick Nikolaus opened the scoring with a nifty deke on a breakaway that seemed to rattle the Stars goalie. Credit should also be given to Jim Heim who stopped 26 of 28 shots in the game compared to the Stars goalie who stopped only 12 of the 15 shots directed his way. Slap Shots:Guido Sever scored his first goal of the season which was his 24th career game winning goal...Rob and Jim Moore sat out due to suspensions from the previous game. For Rob, it ended a 109 consecutive game streak which was the second longest in Apocalypse history. He has the Ironman record with a stunning 183 consecutive games that stretched for 14 years from 1990 to 2004…the reigning Ironman is now Jim Heim who has played 43 games in a row. His longest streak was 71 games from 1998-2003
