Apocalypse Now 4, Berzerkers 7

Melrose - February 6, 2022: The last time Apocalypse Now played the Berzerkers was 3 years ago in a 7-5 loss. It was a chippy game that resulted in several injuries. It was the last game that Jim Moore played after suffering an achilles tendon injury that has kept him out of the lineup ever since. The teams picked up where they left off as they looked to close out the regular season. The Berzerkers played a close checking game and gave no open ice to their opponent. Michael Moore's 4 goal performance was diminished by a 7-4 Bezerker win. "The sun in our eyes was a bit of a factor." Peter Tavares said. Slap Shots: Michael Moore won the season scoring title with 17 goals, 5 assists and 22 points. He edged out Jason Allard who had 21 points. Kevin Wood was third with 20 points. Wood was averaging over 3 points per game prior to this game but couldn't hit the score sheet in this game...Michael Moore moved into 8th place in all-time scoring, passing Hall-of-Famer, Pete Pearson...Guido Sever was playing in his 270th game...Jim Heim continued his Ironman streak and has played 113 consecutive games. During that streak he has 54 wins, 44 losses and 13 ties. He also played 2 games as a forward while Super Dave Meier came in as relief...even though it was a shortened season (12 games), the Horsemen were able to score 50 goals. They have scored at least 50 goals every season since 1994-95. They have missed the 50 goal mark, 6 times in their 38 year history.
