Apocalypse Now 5, Bezerkers 7

. Melrose - January 6, 2019: Apocalypse Now, riddled with injuries, lost their first game of the season, 7-5 to the Bezerkers. Bryan Wiebe suffered a split lip, chipped tooth and groin pull in the altercation. Jim Moore was almost stretchered off the ice after suffering what appears to be an achilles rupture, and Pete Tavares was still feeling the effects of an errant elbow in the previous game. Jeff Wrobleski is also in the sick bay with a leg injury. Despite the casualties, the team tried to mount a comeback, scoring 4 goals in the final 5 minutes, but time ran out. Slap Shots: Jason Allard extended his record goal scoring streak to 12 games. He has also scored in all 8 games this season which is also a record...it was the first taste of what to expect for the rest of the year now that Apocalypse Now has been moved into the "Hacking and Slashing" Division.
