Apocalypse Now 2, Berzerkers 1

Valley Gardens (AP) – February 12, 2012 – The Apocalypse Now refocused their thoughts and effort after a humiliating loss and it paid off with an emotional victory. Michael Moore and Jason Allard scored shootout goals to lift Apocalypse to a 2-1 win over the Berzerkers on Sunday. The Berzerkers tied the game late in the second half on a fortunate bounce which forced overtime. Apocalypse dominated in the four on four overtime period but couldn’t beat the Berzerker goalie with the Dukes jersey. “It would have been a shame to lose that game after all that effort,” Jim Moore said. Slap Shots: Rob Moore was playing in his 83^rd play-off game which ties the record set by Jeff Wrobleski. Wrobleski had only missed two play-off games in the last 29 years until this year with the last game missed in the 1999-2000 season …Bryan Wiebe, who scored the only Apocalypse goal in the game was playing in his 40^th play-off game…Apocalypse Now moves on to play the Dominoes next Sunday…to see video hi-lites of the game, click here.
