Apocalypse Now 5, Belgian Club Crusaders 8
Melrose - February 9, 2020: Bryan Finney sat in his stall trying to come up with the words to describe another disappointing moment for his team in the Spongee Playoffs. "It's a tough pill to swallow," Finney said after Apocalypse Now was eliminated by the Belgian Club Crusaders with an 8-5 loss. "I thought we played good enough to win." The Horsemen took advantage of a couple of penalties and scored three powerplay goals but in the end, the deep bench of the Crusaders was too much to handle.
Slap Shots: Apocalypse Now have never beat the Crusaders in the playoffs in three tries...Guido Sever's quad injury kept him out of the lineup...Michael Moore scored his second hat-trick in as many days...Jason Allard had a goal and two assists. The goal was his 30th playoff goal and it was his 11th, 3 or more point game in the playoffs...Tristan Carlson was playing in his 40th playoff game..everyone has contracts for next season which will be here before you know it.
