Valley Gardens - January 28, 2018:It was a meeting between 2 teams that have met more than any other 2 spongee teams and the matchup of the weekend. It was the 25th meeting between these two teams including 3 playoff games. And for the 15th time, Apocalypse Now defeated the Grand Beach Beer Bellies. (14-7-1 in the regular season). This time it was a 9-0 trouncing. "I wish we could play Tim and the Smoking Goalie everyday" Jim Moore said.
Slap Shots::Jim Heim celebrated his 15th career regular season shutout and his 3rd against the Beer Bellies. Patrick Nikolaus has also shut out the Bellies...Guido Sever has scored the most goals on the Beer Bellies (27) and his goal in the first half was his 40th point which is also the most against one team...Tommy the Referee claimed that he was reffing his 5000th game. He reffed his first game 31 years ago...Jason Allard chipped in a goal and an assist. It was the 55th multi-point game of his career.
