Frozen Nuts 5, Apocalypse Now 3

MORSE PLACE – December 19, 2007 – A new league, a new arena, new rules, but pretty much the same old team. Apocalypse Now opened their 25th season with a thud. They started slow and continued on with that theme as they fell 5-3 to the Frozen Nuts. One bright spot was the play of Jason Allard who may finally be ready for prime time. He contributed a goal and an assist and was a Madman Jr. all over the ice. Late Hits: Rookie, Duane Jarvis did not look out of place on defense. He was slow and out of shape just like everyone else…With his goal, Patrick Nikolaus moved passed Mike Sanderson into 21^st place on the all-time scoring list with 36 points…Allard scored the season opening goal denying Myron Fiks or Jeff Wrobleski from getting their 4^th career season opener. Joel Moore shares the record with 3 career season opening goals.
