Apocalypse Now 4, Los Wombatos 4
MELROSE – December 28, 2007 – The Apocalypse Now are getting used to close
games. Myron Fiks had two goals and an assist, and Jim
Heim made many circus saves to help lift Apocalypse to a 4-4 tie with Los Wombatos on Friday night. Jim Moore also scored twice for the Horsemen,
who tied their second straight game. It
was also the second straight game in which they had to pull the goalie and
score with the man advantage in order to achieve the tie. "We have to be
able to win those tight ones," Heim said. “They were a bunch of snowflakes,”
Tristan Carlson added.
Late Hits: Fiks’ assist was the 100th of his career making him the 5th Apocalypse Now player to reach that milestone…Jeff Wrobleski became the second 50 year old player on the team when he celebrated his birthday on December 22nd. The average age on the team is somewhere around 46 years…’Trucker’ Brandt was seen in the crowd watching the game.
