Apocalypse Now 7, Warpigs 5

Melrose - February 9, 2025: The scene was set for the first elimination game of the playoffs. The Warpigs came out of the starting gate fast and furious and got the first goal which would have deflated most teams. But not Apocalypse Now, who turned it up a notch and scored 5 first half goals thanks to the Michael-Myron line that had a hat-trick each and 12 points combined. The Warpigs made a push in the second half but it was the Apocalypse's day as they took a 7-5 victory and live to play in the final next Sunday. Slap Shots:It was Superbowl Sunday and the ref called the game with 2 minutes left as it appeared he had a party to go to...It was Myron Fiks' 5th career playoff hat-trick and Michael Moore's 7th. The last time Apocalypse had two players with hat tricks in the playoffs was on February 14, 2016 when Fiks and Rob Moore did the trick against the Empties...Jim Heim was playing in his 100th playoff game. He has been in net for 88 of the games with a record of 45 wins and 43 losses...Jason Allard's goal was his 40th playoff goal...Michael Moore had 7 points which is a career high for the playoffs. He had 6 points twice...his team moves on to play the Elmwood Elkhorns next Sunday.
