Apocalypse Now 5, High Voltage 6

Melrose - January 5, 2014: Michael Moore and Myron Fiks know how to make the key plays that lead to wins. And Apocalypse Now is thankful for that. Unfortunately, due to the cold weather, the game against the High Voltage was shortened by 20 minutes and Moore and Fiks did not have enough time to make enough plays. The result was a 6-5 loss to the Voltage team that came down from a higher division. “This is a winter sport.” Jeff Wrobleski said, “If we don’t play when it’s cold, when do we play?” Slap Shots: Apocalypse Now are 2-5-0 at the halfway mark of the season. This is their worst record in almost 20 years and third worse start ever. The 1994-95 season saw them start with a 1-5-1 record and finish 4-8-2. The worst start ever was in their inaugural season (1983-84) where they went 1-6 and finish 3-17…Jason Allard was playing in his 100^th career game…Michael Moore’s consecutive point streak came to an end at 11. He remains tied for the record with Guido Sever…this was the 100^th time that Fiks had multiple points in 164 regular season games.
