Morse Place – February 14, Apocalypse Now, in their third year in the Kildonan League, were trying to make the second weekend of the playoffs for the first time. And make it they did. Thanks to stellar goaltending from Jim Heim and a Gordie Howe hat-trick from Jeff Wrobleski (a goal, an assist and a penalty), the Apocalypse team advance to the semi-fianls next Sunday against District Five. "It seems the puck was in our end the entire game," Jim Moore said at the beer gardens afterward, "But thanks to Heimie they couldn't bury it." Slap Shots:
Guy Sever moved into a tie with Pete Pearson for 2nd place in all time play-off scoring with 46 points. They are both behind Jeff Wrobleski who now has 81 points…it was Jim Heim’s 2nd career play-off shut-out. The other one occurring three years ago against the Bulldogs. The only other shut-out belongs to the legend Kerry Fisher.
