Apocalypse Now 2 - Ratz 4
Melrose- December 9, 2012 –The look on Apocalypse Now forward Jeff Wrobleski’s face said it all Sunday night. It was the epitome of dejection after the Horsemen’s 4-2 loss to the Ratz.
The loss was tough to take for many reasons: it ended the Apocalypse Now nine-game-winning streak, finished a string of four straight years where it gutted out victory in the season opener and was dished out by a team that’s become one of the Apocalypse’s fiercest rivals. “We just couldn’t muster enough energy,” Patrick Nikolaus said at the Pony Coral afterwards.
Slap Shots: Jason Allard scored the opening goal of the season for the 4th time in his career which is an Apocalypse Now record…Helmets are mandatory this year and there were few complaints by the players despite the cold weather…the Ratz scored an empty net goal as Heimy was pulled with just over a minute left…Apocalypse were without Myron Fiks and Tristan Carlson…to see Jason Allard’s record setting goal click here.... …
