Apocalypse Now 4, Ratz 4
Melrose – January 2, 2011: As an old team still trying to find its way and its identity, Apocalypse Now may just look back to Sunday night as a major building block in that process as they tied the Ratz, 4-4.
Apocalypse were up 2-0 after the first period mainly due to rookie goalie, Andrew Clark's stellar play but the Ratz erased the deficit in the second half with 3 quick unanswered goals. After the Ratz went up 4-3 with less than 2 minutes remaining, it appeared that Clark's first start would be one to forget. Then Jeff Wrobleski salvaged the tie when he roofed a quick shot from the right circle right under the crossbar.
Slap Shots:
Patrick Nikolaus is having his best campaign since the 2004-05 season when he finished with 18 points. He is on pace to equal that amount this year...Apocalypse Now unveiled their new uniforms on this night with good reviews. The number 19 is worn on the left shoulder to commemorate Joe Moore, a founding member and first Captain of the team.
