Chalmers – December 7, 2008 – Jim Heim stopped all shots he faced as the Apocalypse Now beat the Ratz, 4-0, in the season opener for both teams at Chalmers Community Club. "It was nice to start the season with a win," said Jeff Wrobleski. "We came out and played hard and Heimie was great tonight. Now let’s go and get some chicken wings” Notes: This was Heimie’s first regular season shut-out since January 9, 2005, when he slammed the door on Totally Confused. It was his 5^th career regular season shut-out which ties the record of Kerry Fisher. Heimie’s last shut-out occurred in the 2007 play-offs against the Bulldogs… Tristan Carlson was helped off the ice after dislocating his kneecap. He did not return and his status is unknown… Jason Allard scored the season opening goal for the second straight year. The record of 3 career season opening goals is held by Wrobleski, Myron Fiks and Joe Moore… The highly touted Bryan Finney was held off the score sheet in his Apocalypse debut.
