1998-99
Sunday, January 24, 1999, Game Eight vs. the Mighty Pigs was one of the big highlights of the year as Guido Sever, (this season’s scoring champ) scored the franchise 1000th regular season goal. Two nights later, League Commissioner Mike Babinsky honoured the Apocalypse Now team by presenting them with the actual 1000th goal puck. "I tracked down the referee before the next game and he had it in his pocket," Babinsky said, "This is a major milestone for the team." Babinsky also placed a commemorative poster up in the clubhouse acknowledging the milestone goal.
For the third time in his career, Rob Moore scored in three consecutive games. But this year was special, because in the third game, he scored his 50th career goal. Game Two of the A-Side Playoff was declared Robbie Moore Day as a 50 goal-plaque was presented at a centre ice ceremony to celebrate the magical goal. But after the misty eyed ceremony it was the other Rob – Burnett who did the scoring in this playoff game. Burnett scored 4 times to eliminate the Stingers in a sweep.
Some dude on the Griffin Knights (nee Fargon Ice Holes) went nuts and scored at will. He dominated the league all season and the playoffs were no exception as Apocalypse was swept two straight in the final, including an OT shootout in Game Two.
