1995-96

Division 18 saw Apocalypse post a 7-7 record and finish in 4th place. Mike Keating led the way with a new team record of 31 goals and 44 points. Both of these records still stand today. Jeff Wrobleski set a record of 6 consecutive games from the start of the season with a goal, and scored a least one point in all 14 games. These records won’t go down easily.

Patrick Nikolaus was the young 15 year old goalie who helped bail out the aging franchise. Patrick played in all 14 regular season games, the first time one goalie carried the team all year. Patrick faced a record 8 penalty shots, stopping all but one. Mike Keating also took a record 3 penalty shots, scoring once.

Eleven different players got at least one penalty, but 70 minutes in total did not come close to the penalty record set in 87-88 and 94-95 (84 minutes) This season tied the club record for most players with a penalty in one game (5).

The Play-Offs

A mediocre season, win one, lose one it seemed, but the playoffs were a different story. Two games and – boom – gone again. Game Two was scheduled for Valley Gardens and half the team went to Old Ex. We played two players short against the #1 team, KGB and got smoked a record 19-1.
