1988-89

The highlight of the season had to be ‘Gary LeDrew Day’. In a televised spectacle, Apocalypse raced to 10 with Gang Green while Gary was honoured for being the first player in team history to reach the 50 goal mark. Pete and Wrobleski also managed to reach the 50 goal plateau before the season was over.

Darren Woo set a club record of 19 assists in the regular season which has since been tied, but is yet to be broken.

The Play-Offs

Apocalypse finished a very ordinary 7-7 for a second straight 5th place finish in the fourth division. Gang Green was swept in the first round of the playoffs, where Joe was forced to play goal in Game One. Despite a broken shoulder and oversized galoshes, Joe held on for a 5-3 win. Apocalypse lost to the Animals in the B-Side Final. The final series featured a Game Three double OT shoot out loss for Apocalypse.
