Apocalypse Now 7, Legion of Doom 10
Northwood - December 15, 2019: Apocalypse Now, last season's B-Side Champions, looked to start the season with a win for the first time in 4 years. Jason Allard came out like a house on fire and had a goal and 2 assists in the first five minutes.
They were up 5-4 over the Legion of Doom at the half on Sunday, but the tables turned in the second half. The LOD rattled off 6 goals including an empty-netter and came away with a 10-7 victory. "We want to win games. This is not a good feeling." Myron Fiks, who scored twice, said.
Slap Shots:Bryan Wiebe was sporting a new game used Bryan Little stick. It worked for him as he had a goal and an assist in the game including his second Season Opening goal. His first season opener came 10 years ago in the 2009-10 season...Michael Moore recorded his 20th career hat trick and the 6th natural. Guido Sever has the record for most hat tricks at 24...Jim Heim was playing in his 88th consecutive game in goal. He has not had 9 goals against in a season opening game since his rookie season. In 1992-93, he let in 9 goals in a season opening loss to the Southglen Stars.
